The closest town to Tirthan Valley is Aut, and numerous bus companies operate daily services between Delhi and this location. To get to Tirthan Valley from Aut, you can take a local bus or hail a taxi. Bus travel from Delhi to Aut might take anywhere from 12 to 13 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.

Winter arrives in the valley in November and lasts until February. The temperature drops to between 5°C and 15°C throughout this time. This time of year is ideal for seeing snowfall and taking in the beauty of the winter scenery.

The Himalayan state of Kullu district includes the town of Banjar, which includes the Tirthan valley. The valley, named after the Tirthan River, is situated more than 1600 meters above sea level.
