Best Time to Visit BhubaneswarÂ
The summers in Bhubaneshwar are very hot, making it difficult to move around the city. That makes it an unfavourable time to visit the city, especially because the majority of the sights are temples. The winters are mild, with minimum temperatures reaching 8 degrees. The best time to visit this city is from October to March.
Best Places To Visit In Bhubaneswar
1. Lingaraj Temple
The Lingaraj Temple is an ancient temple in Bhubaneswar and the city's largest. King Jajati Keshari built the temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, in the seventh century. It is greatly venerated because the Linga, a manifestation of Lord Shiva, is thought to have appeared organically. It reaches a huge height of 8 inches above the floor and measures around 8 feet in diameter. The Lingaraj Temple is located in the historic area of Bhubaneswar Town and is easily accessible by local transport. The temple's structure is a magnificent illustration of Odissi architecture, and its main shrine is protected by elaborately carved stone vaults. In the northwest corner of the courtyard is also a modest temple devoted to the goddess Bhagawati. Nevertheless, admission is limited to Hindu believers alone. During the Mahashivratri celebrations, when the entire sanctum is decked out in flowers, lanterns, and lights, the Lingaraj Temple is particularly well-known. Up to 6,000 people attend the temple every day, and on Shivratri, a significant celebration day, this number soars to up to 200,000.
2. Nandankanan Zoological Park
Established in 1960, Nandankanan Zoological Park is a various zoo situated inside a jungle. This intriguing sanctuary was established to guarantee that the natural environment of the flora and fauna is preserved and that they flourish there. It is the world's first zoo to have successfully bred White and Melanistic Tigers.
3. Rajarani Temple
The Raja Rani Temple, a well-known Hindu temple from the eleventh century located in Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha, India, is referred to as the "love temple" by the locals because of its sensual carvings of ladies and couples. Since the sanctum is devoid of images, the temple is not connected to any one branch of Hinduism. The temple's allure may stem precisely from the fact that it is available to all individuals, regardless of their preferred deity, and it is not affiliated with any one sect. The sculpted images of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati on the walls, however, clearly suggest that the temple is associated with Shaivism in some way. Historians believe it was built somewhere in the eleventh or twelfth century, while the precise date is still unknown. The Rajarani Temple is credited with inspiring the architectural style of other central Indian temples, the most famous of which are the Totesvara Mahadeo temple in Kadawa and the Khajuraho temples. The Archaeological Survey of India is currently in charge of the Rajarani Temple, which is kept as a ticketed monument meaning that visitors must have a ticket to enter.
4. Regional Science Centre Bhubaneswar
The Regional Science Centre in Bhubaneswar, which covers eight acres, was founded on September 18, 1989. It functions independently under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and is a member of the National Council of Science Museums. With an emphasis on students in particular, the centre seeks to make science accessible to Odisha's varied population. In addition to an outdoor Science Park and a Prehistoric Life Park with animatronic dinosaur models, it has three galleries: Motion, Mathematics, and Popular Science. The center offers a platform for teaching, and stimulating scientific interest in the community through shows, exhibits, and events.
5. Mukteswara Temple
The 10-century-old Mukteswara Temple, which is devoted to Lord Shiva, is a prime illustration of the enduring popularity of the Kalinga architectural style. This temple, which is 35 feet tall and full of grandeur and charm, has withstood the test of time. The numerous Panchatantra stories are portrayed in exquisite sculptures and carvings found in this temple.

We are just back from our 6N/7D Kasmir holiday. The entire holiday was planned by Nitu Sharma from Pluto Tours.
