Sikkim's one airport, Pakyoung Airport, is located 31 kilometres south of Gangtok. The airport is located on 201 acres and is a greenfield site. At 4590 feet, it is one of India's five highest airports. First commercial airline operations began on October 4, 2018, with the airport opening on September 24, 2018.
As of now, Pakyoung Airport does not receive any international flights. Nevertheless, there are daily flights from Guwahati, Delhi, and Kolkata. There are direct flights from Pakyoung Airport operated by Air Asia, Spice Jet, Indigo, Air India, and Vistara.Â

Apart from Pakyoung, Bagdogra is the closest airport to Gangtok. It offers frequent daily flights to many Indian cities as well as neighbouring countries like Bhutan. Bagdogra, which is 126 kilometres from Gangtok, is typically a convenient way to travel to Sikkim.

A 50-kilometer train link that was supposed to run from Sevoke, West Bengal, to Rangpo, Sikkim, was put on hold in 2009. Many trains travel approximately 1466 km between Delhi and Siliguri on a weekly and daily basis. DBRT Rajdhani (12424), Avadh Assam Express (15910), North-East Express (12506), Mahananda Express (15484), and Brahmaputra Mail (14056) are a few of the trains that go between Delhi and Siliguri.
By bus, Sikkim is easily accessible.
