Observers can expect A23a to enter the Antarctic Circumpolar Current and direct it toward the Southern Ocean via a passage known as ‘iceberg alley’ to see similar ice formations floating in the dark waters.

Marsh highlighted the persistence of icebergs like A23a in the Southern Ocean, even in warmer temperatures, stressing the likelihood of it reaching South Africa and disrupting shipping.
