Uttarakhand: India's first gyrocopter safari is set to debut soon.

By the end of the year, Uttarakhand plans to launch India’s first-ever gyrocopter safari, redefining the concept of adventure tourism in the state. This news was made during a Uttarakhand Investors’ Summit tourism session. It guarantees an exciting experience that will allow guests to marvel at the spectacular Himalayan environment from a new perspective.

In response, Manish Saini, CEO of the private sports firm in charge of the air safari, stated that this is not only the first service of its type in India, but also in South Asia. This venture, which is set to take flight by the end of this month, will mark a big shift in the state’s tourism offers, according to Saini.

The absence of an engine rotating the rotors distinguishes a gyrocopter, which resembles a miniature helicopter. It will provide a unique and thrilling experience. Saini went on to say that they have been organizing air safaris in Rishikesh with the help of the state government since 2014. Gyrocopter safaris will also depart from Rishikesh, providing tourists with a bird’s-eye perspective of the region’s natural beauty.

During the conference, State Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj emphasized the government’s commitment to making visitor itineraries more accessible and smooth, with a particular emphasis on encouraging adventure sports and pilgrimage. He devised ideas for developing Adi Kailash and Om Parvat as Shiva Nagari, as well as Corbett and Sitabani as an all-encompassing wildlife kingdom.
Tourism Secretary Sachin Kurve emphasized the sector’s significant contribution to the state and national GDP, highlighting Uttarakhand’s designation as the safest destination for female travellers.

Meanwhile, Ramashish Ray, the founder of Star Scape, has asked the state government to capitalize on the immense potential of astro-tourism in the state and promote it as a source of employment and revenue generation. Ray’s observations hint at the undiscovered celestial treasures waiting to be unearthed in Uttarakhand, which has 64 observatories statewide, including one in Kausani.
