SRINAGAR: According to The Hindu, the Railway Board has allocated eight coaches for the Vande Bharat Express, which will start running on Tuesday along the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Northern Railway successfully tested an electric train for the first time last week, travelling 15 km from Banihal to the Khari Railway Station in the Ramban district.
The Union States have allocated their first train of this kind, an eight-car electric train. Also, before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Central government could declare the launch of Vande Bharat, which would link Kashmir with the rest of India.
