Day 1 Agatti: Arrival

The first day of your Lakshadweep tour will hit you in the face with breathtaking scenery. After landing at Agatti Airport, you will be met and driven to your hotel for a short distance so you may check-in. The entire day is at your disposal, though it’s difficult to imagine you’ll want to do anything other than throw off your shoes and take a barefoot stroll along the sandy beaches, right into the fantasy-like lagoon of Agatti Island. Even after 500 meters, the water level will not rise over your knees. Overall, this day is best spent taking in the sights and sounds of your new surroundings. So kick back and relax as you spend your first night on Agatti Island.

Day 2 – Agatti: Sightseeing

After breakfast, the second day of the tour is dedicated to exploring your host island of Agatti, mingling with the locals, and learning about their culture. The Islamic influence can be seen in the local culture, such as music and dancing. It also has cultural parallels with Kerala, which is the closest state on the Indian mainland. Lava is a festive dance done by the male population of the Lakshadweep islands. Parichakali, a hybrid of traditional dance and martial arts, is another style of dance that is part of the island’s traditions. Handicraft products in these areas are manufactured from locally available corals, shells, and oysters, which are all utilized to construct various ornaments and jewellery. Visitors are welcome to purchase these products if they so desire. The day concludes with an overnight stay on Agatti Island.

Day 3 – Agatti: Sightseeing

The day begins with breakfast, followed by a boat ride to the uninhabited islands of Bangaram and Thinnakara. On your trip there, you’ll get to see dolphins and turtles swimming around in their natural environments. Thinnakara Island, which is nearby, has similarly captivating seascapes, with bioluminescent plankton living in its surroundings. The trip returns to Agatti island for an overnight stay after sipping tea and enjoying the evening.

Day 4 – Agatti: Sightseeing

Breakfast kicks off the day again, and you’ll have some time to kill afterwards, so feel free to explore more of Agatti or simply relax for a while. We’ll take another boat excursion to Kalpitty Island once midday arrives and you’ve eaten a hearty supper. It is another uninhabited island in Lakshadweep that should take around 45 minutes to visit. We’ll spend the afternoon on this island until we see a really beautiful sunset. As the sun sets, we return to Agatti Island for the night.

Day 5 – Agatti: Optional Water Sports

If you opt to join, you will spend the full day participating in water activities. There is a large range of activities offered, so you’re sure to find something of interest. Scuba diving allows you to get a clear, up-close view of the underwater world, with schools of fish, colourful corals, and seemingly alien geology all within arm’s length. Snorkelling is for you if you don’t want to venture far into the water but yet want to see what life is like beneath the waves. Deep-sea fishing is available for those who want to venture out into the broad waters to see if anything will bite.

You might also enjoy surfing, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, yachting, and much more. At the end of the day, you’ll have one last overnight stay on Agatti Island.

Agatti: Departure

After our final breakfast on Agatti Island, we packed our belongings and checked out. Then we transfer to Agatti Airport for our return flight.
