Day 1 – NJP Railway station /Bagdogra Airport to Gangtok
Get aboard a hassle-free transfer to Gangtok after landing at the NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport.
Don’t forget to take pictures of the majestic Teesta River as you pass by.
Once you arrive in Gangtok, check into your accommodation and take the remainder of the day off to relax.
You can visit Gangtok’s MG Marg in the evening to browse the gift shops and indulge in some traditional Sikkimese food.
Spend the night in a hotel in Gangtok.
Day 2 – Gangtok Excursion Tour
Get ready to explore some stunning spots near Gangtok after a satisfying breakfast.
Start by going to the well-known glaciated lake, Tsomgo Lake, also known as Changu Lake, which was used by Buddhist monks to prophesy the future based on its shifting colours.
You will then go to the famed Baba Mandir shrine, where it is said that every soldier is shielded by the spirit of Baba in the hostile, high-altitude Eastern Himalayas.
Later, for an additional fee, you can also visit Nathula Pass, one of the most significant passes on the India-China border (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays).
Later, make your way back to Gangtok and spend the night there.
Day 3 – Gangtok to Lachen
Enjoy a great breakfast at the hotel as you awaken to a stunning alpine morning.
Prepare yourself and take your transportation to Lachen, a charming hamlet in North Sikkim.
Drive down the North Sikkim Highway, passing a variety of minor waterfalls along the way.
You can witness the junction of the Lachen Chu and Lachung Chu rivers as you go to Lachen through the lovely town of Chungthang, which is close to Kanchenjunga National Park.
Check into your hotel as soon as you reach Lachen, then take the rest of the day to relax and take in your surroundings.
Dinner and a night’s lodging in Lachen.
Day 4 – Lachen – Gurudongmar Lake – Lachung
Wake up to the view of the snow-capped mountains and have a full breakfast (while staying there or while travelling there, depending on when you depart).
Visit the glistening Gurudongmar Lake first thing in the morning; it is the Highest Altitude Accessible Lake and was named for Guru Padmasambhava, who is thought to have been through this area when visiting Tibet.
The lake is a significant source of the Teesta River and is surrounded by snow-covered mountains.
Take some time to take in the lake’s hues before setting out on your return trip to Lachen, where lunch will be served.
Next, take to the roads as you begin your trek to Lachung, one of Sikkim’s most picturesque towns.
You’ll cross the Bhim Nala waterfalls, one of Sikkim’s tallest waterfalls, on the way.
If you have the time, visit the sacred rock in Chungthang that features Guru Padmasambhava’s footprint.
Arrive at Lachung, then have dinner.
Stay the night in Lachung.
Day 5 – Lachung – Yumthang Valley – Gangtok
Yak bells will ring you awake, and you will go for a leisurely breakfast and exploration of Sikkim’s Yumthang Valley, also known as the Valley of Flowers.
This valley, which is 11,800 feet above sea level, is known for its vibrant primula, rhododendron, and other alpine flower blooms.
Visit Yumthang Valley’s hot springs, which are on the way back and are thought to have therapeutic qualities.
Once you’ve finished sightseeing, head back to Lachung to eat lunch.
Start your transfer back to Gangtok later, and when you get there, check into your hotel.
Spend the night in a hotel in Gangtok.
Day 6 Gangtok – NJP Railway station /Bagdogra Airport
Check out of the hotel after a filling breakfast, and then get in your car to drive to NJP Station or Bagdogra Airport (IXB).
Once you are left off at the airport or train station for your next destination, your tour is over.
Time to return home with a wealth of pleasant recollections.
