Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā HOW TO REACH :
By Air: The nearest airport to Vaishno Devi is the Jammu Airport (Satwari Airport). Many domestic flights operate to and from Jammu from major Indian cities. Once you reach Jammu, you can proceed to Vaishno Devi by road.
By Train: Jammu is well-connected by train to various major cities in India. The Jammu Tawi Railway Station is the nearest railway station to Vaishno Devi. From the railway station, you can take a taxi, bus, or other means of transport to reach Katra, the base camp for the Vaishno Devi Yatra.
By Road: Katra is the starting point of the Vaishno Devi Yatra of your packageĀ and it is well-connected by road to major cities in Jammu and Kashmir and neighboring states. Several buses, both private and state-owned, run from Jammu to Katra regularly. Taxis are also available for hire from Jammu to Katra.
From Katra to Vaishno Devi Temple: After reaching Katra, the actual yatra to the Vaishno Devi temple begins. The 12-kilometer uphill trek can be undertaken on foot, or you can opt for various modes of transportation like electric vehicles, ponies, or palanquins.
Helicopter Services: For those who wish to skip the trek, there are helicopter services available from Katra to Sanjichhat, which is close to the Vaishno Devi temple. However, helicopter services are subject to weather conditions and availability, so it’s advisable to check in advance and make bookings if needed.
Pit Stops and Facilities: Along the yatra route, there are various facilities like refreshment stalls, restrooms, and resting places for pilgrims. These are maintained to ensure a comfortable journey for the devotees.
