Book a Nubra Valley tour packages to explore Ladakh's old Silk Route. This three-armed valley is famous for adventure sports, hot springs, breathtaking glaciers, and the soul-stirring environment that Ladakh is known for. Apart from the friendly people who live there, this harsh yet stunning country has a distinct personality. Beneath the broad river valley's barren terrain, the snow-capped peaks of the Karakoram Range gleam. While sightseeing in Nubra, the main things to see are Diskit, Panamik, Hunder, and Turtuk. The double-humped Bactrian Camels that wander the Hunder dunes, the well-known Panamik hot springs, the expansive views of the Nubra River from Diskit Monastery, the recognisable Maitreya Buddha statue, and the route to Siachen Base Camp are the primary attractions of the Nubra Valley. The tiny settlement of Khalsar displays the first indications of civilization in this strange environment after descending from the Khardung La peak. Here, the main road splits into two: the left road follows the Shyok River to Turtuk via Diskit and Hunder, while the right road follows the Nubra River to the Siachen River via Panamik.
The Nubra Valley administrative centre is located in the town of Diskit, which is roughly 115 miles from Leh and 15 km from Khalsar. It continues to serve as the centre of all regional tourism activities. The stunning 1420-constructed Diskit Gompa provides a wonderful perspective of the valley below. After Thiksey Gompa, it is the second-largest Buddhist monastery in Leh. The focal point of the valley is a 32-meter-tall statue of Future Buddha, also known as Maitreya Buddha. Visitors may reach Hunder, which is well-known for its desert scenery and outdoor adventures like camel rides, quad riding, and overnight camping, in just fifteen minutes by car from Diskit. The town of Turtuk, one of the last inhabited communities on the Indian side of the Line of Control, is located about 70 kilometres beyond Hunder amid a deafening desolation. Turtuk was settled by the Balti people and is a beautiful site with orchards, a two-story courtyard house that is now a museum, and a medieval monastery that is now a mosque with a view of K2, the second-highest mountain in the world. Adventure activities in Hunder and a visit to Turtuk are included in our Nubra Valley tour packages. The hot springs of Panamik, the last settlement reachable by road, are one of the main draws on another arm of Nubra Valley. Two lesser-known attractions in Nubra Valley include Yarab Tso Lake in Sumur and the Ensa Monastery. With our Nubra Valley travel packages, you can take an adventurous turn on your trip to Ladakh and experience the sterility of altitude.
